The BAYN Wellbeing Team have released a survey as part of a new initiative to build awareness and capacity for managing mental health issues within the community and to tackle the stigma associated with mental health issues.

Taking part is voluntary, and all answers are anonymous, therefore participants will not be identifiable.

You can find a copy of this survey on the Jamaat Website and Facebook page as well as the BAYN facebook page. For any more information, please contact sisters Sakina Zahra Nazerali or Sakina Rassul in the ladies and brother Mehdi Khaki in the gents.

Click here to take the survey which will only take 5 minutes to complete and your participation is greatly appreciated.

This house believes 'The Khoja mother tongue has no future.' In an effort to promote community spirit, there will be a debate to discuss this taking place:

On: Sunday 26th of February

Time: Immediately after Maghrib Salaat at 5:50 pm ending with Nyaz.

This is a community event and open to all ages. Because this is a parliamentary style debate, there will be an opportunity to make comments, ask questions and even make suggestions from the crowd. All are encouraged to attend what is set to be a highly opinionated debate that has seen many conversations and discussions in the past within the community.

Anyone interested in participating should give their name to either Kazim Sajan, Ali Fazel or Mehdi Khakhi.

The BAYN team is hosting a unique workshop open to all, on Arabic Calligraphy on Sunday the 29th January. We will be joined by the talented Samiur Rahman from House of Calligraphy who will guide you on your masterclass in calligraphy.

There will be two workshops during the day, one for children and one for adults. The children’s workshop will run from 2pm to 4pm for ages 9 to 15. The adults Workshop will then take place from 4pm to 7.30pm for ages 16 and above. All materials will be provided, this includes the Workbook and special calligraphy pen. The cost of the workshop will be £5 for children and £8 for adults. These costs are heavily subsidised, and limited spaces are available.

For more information, please contact Sisters Fatema Khoja & Sarah Yusufali or Brother Gulam Sumar.
