Abbasi Islamic Centre Project

The Building Committee have organised a public consultation for local residents who are not members of our Community to view and comment upon the plans for the new centre. This is an important exercise required in order to get support from local residents for our plans. Two sessions are being held:

1. Friday 27th September between 2pm and 7pm in the Syeda Zainab Sports Hall.
2. Saturday 28th September between 10am and 1pm at Balsall Heath Library

Members are requested to accommodate guests who will be coming to the centre on Friday and direct them to the sports hall if required.

On Friday 2nd August 2013 the Building Committee held a Sehri event aimed at bringing people up to speed with the development of the Mehfil -E- Abbas Project. We presented draft drawings to show the community our current plans to develop the current site. This was presented by Bob Ghosh of K4 Architects.

A Question and answer session was then conducted. We received some valuable feedback from the community that will help us to develop the plans further.

We would like to express our my gratitude to all those who attended the programme. Insha'Allah, the Almighty will bless you all for your efforts in ensuring that we produce the best possible centre that enables us to progress our community in His name.

Birmingham Jamaat is embarking on a plan to expand its current centre and is looking to engage the services of the following professionals:

• Quantity Surveyor
• Structural Engineer
• Mechanical and Electrical Engineer
• Construction Design Management Co-ordinator
• Transport Consultant
