At Muhammadi Madressa we focus on teaching using a variety of styles. This year, one of our most successful approaches enabled 10 and 11 year old students to learn various aspects of wudhu using workstations. The aim of the lesson was to help the students understand the importance of wudhu as well as how to perform it. During this lesson, four stations were set up to focus on different aspects of wudhu and each station was facilitated by a teacher. The topics at the four stations included wudhu sequence, what invalidates wudhu, conditions of wudhu and how to perform tayammum. The students worked in small groups and had the opportunity to visit all of the stations throughout the session. Upon completion, the students were asked to complete a wudhu lapbook which reinforced the new information introduced during the lesson. Overall, it was evident that the students thoroughly benefited from this particular teaching style as the work they produced showed an understanding of the concepts in a creative and informative way.
Well done P7 for some fabulous work.
