Salaamun Alaikum,

Jum'a Mubarak!

I pray this email finds you in good health.

Alhamdulillah, with the grace of the Almighty, and your support and prayers, I have been given the opportunity to serve you for the next two years. It is an honour for me to serve our community and I aspire to take our community to new heights.

This year's elections have been empowering, engaging and inspirational. I have learnt a lot through our consultations, discussions, feedback and questions. The atmosphere of the elections was fantastic with lots of passionate people feeling strongly about the future of our community.

Yesterday, for the first time we also had hustings for the Chairlady elections with four candidates nominated for the position. I wish the best of luck to all candidates! It is encouraging to see such energy and passion from our community; I pray that we can direct this energy after the elections into working together to enhance our growing community!

The work now begins on my pledges and the 100-day plan. Over the coming weeks, I shall be discussing these with my Executive Committee and members of the Sub-Committees. If you feel you can help in any way or have any additional ideas or suggestions, please speak to myself or a member of the EC, or you can email us at This email address is being protected from spambots. I would like to thank you all for your support, with special thanks to #TeamKSM for running a strong campaign. I look forward to working together, consolidating ideas and uniting to take our community forward.

I would request you to remember us in your Duas in these blessed months.

With Salaams and Duas,

Gulam
