Inset Day - September 10th 2016.

 

Term 3 Inset Day was held on Saturday 10th September at Abbasi Islamic Centre.

It was a wonderful opportunity for our staff to meet after the long break and get back into the Madrasah mood.  An excellent and interactive training session was facilitated by Ss. Nikhat Panjwani and she did an amazing job! It was fun, interesting and gave a new perspective on preparation and lesson planning.  With creative activities Ss. Nikhat showed us different techniques that we can use in our classrooms, as well the impact that being prepared can have even on a 5 minute lesson.  We look forward to some more great sessions in the future.

I would like to thank the staff who gave up their time to join us in this training session, and for their wonderful company as we shared a meal together.  Needless to say, it was disappointing to have cancellations even several on the morning of the Inset Day, it made a huge impact on our preparations for the event, which left us with excess food ordered, resources printed and time spent having to re-plan the details of the Inset Day.  This is a sad waste of Madrasah resources and also impacts everyones morale when they have worked to prep these events for weeks ahead. We understand well the meaning of volunteering and know that life brings it's own commitments, Insha'Allah we hope that staff who missed out on this training will be able to make time for future Inset Days.

 

 

Congratulations to Muhammadi Madrasah staff who took successfully completed the Madrasah Centre of Excellence Teaching Skills Programme held on 13th, 14th and 21st February 2016.

Muhammadi Madrasah is now well on it's way to having ALL their staff certified on this TSP course - Alhumdulillah.

Alhumdulillah, we at Muhammadi Madrasah are taking our impact on the environment a lot more seriously.  We’ve begun to look into ways to contribute to our planet by being more mindful on how we use both our resources and our facilities.  To mark this new beginning we are introducing Eco-Monitors to our classes.

 

To encourage responsibility amongst our students, each teacher will nominate a new monitor for their class per week.  The responsibilities of this monitor will be to ensure that all lights are turned off when the last students leave the class, including at lunch break, and also to close all windows in the room.  This is the new monitor badge that will be given out to the nominated monitor each week, and we ask teachers to ensure they are returned at the end of the day as there will only be one per class provided.

For us teachers to show a good example, it would be even more helpful to keep an eye on the state we leave the classroom in; picking up rubbish and tucking in chairs and returning moved furniture to their original positions. 

 

These small contributions make a big impact on our own Akhlaq awareness, and Insha’Allah will go beyond the classroom and benefit us all by making us more socially considerate Human Beings.

On Thursday, 17th March 2016, Primary Quran teachers met for an revolutionary forum meeting to discuss and share good practice.   All teachers prepared some innovative and creative resources to share with their colleagues and the meeting was a big success.  It was inspiring to see the ideas that were bounced around, and also very insightful to see the resources that are used by individual teachers in the Primary department.

Well done to Ss. Farida Bharwani for taking the first move in what is hoped will become a regular event within the teaching faculty at Muhammadi Madrasah. Insha'Allah.
