The talk is about a realistic appreciation of life as it stands, beginning to understand the purpose intended through the controllable and uncontrollable events of everyday life and how to see events of life as opportunities for the attainment of the intended purpose. Verses that the lecture is based around:
أَفَحَسِبْتُمْ أَنَّمَا خَلَقْنَاكُمْ عَبَثًا وَأَنَّكُمْ إِلَيْنَا لَا تُرْجَعُونَ
"Then did you think that We created you uselessly and that to Us you would not be returned?" [23:115]
يَا أَيُّهَا الْإِنسَانُ إِنَّكَ كَادِحٌ إِلَىٰ رَبِّكَ كَدْحًا فَمُلَاقِيهِ
"O mankind, indeed you are laboring toward your Lord with [great] exertion and will meet it."[84:6]
